Jean Hey
Jean Hey has an MFA in fiction and nonfiction from Bennington College and received the Bennington College 2016 award for nonfiction. Her short story “Recovery Room,” was honored by the Colorado Review. Jean was also a finalist in Glimmer Train’s Short Story Award for New Writers. Originally from South Africa, she worked as a journalist on two major newspapers in Johannesburg and Cape Town and as a correspondent for The Times, reporting on Black education. In the United States, Jean's work has been published in The New York Times Sunday Magazine, the Cleveland Plain Dealer, The Chicago Tribune, Solstice Literary Magazine, The LA Review of Books and more. She lives in Boston.
